GameExpo 2026 Opens in Dubai with Packed First Day
GameExpo 2026 has officially opened in Dubai, marking the launch of one of the region’s largest gaming and digital entertainment events as part of the Dubai Esports & Games Festival (DEF) 2026. The opening day drew large crowds of gamers, creators, and families to the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), where a wide range of interactive experiences and live competitions kicked off the weekend programme.
Held across Exhibition Halls 5, 6, 7, and 8, the event offered visitors an immersive mix of esports tournaments, technology showcases, and family-friendly entertainment. Organised by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), which operates under the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), GameExpo continues to position itself as a flagship attraction in the city’s annual events calendar.
Day one featured several headline activities, including the DMCC VR Challenge, the Rove Gaming Nights Award Ceremony, and the Dubai Police Fortnight Map Showcase. Visitors also attended the Cosplay Catwalk presented by Comicave, alongside competitive esports action in the True Gamers x DEF tournaments, which drew strong participation from regional gaming communities.
Organisers say the event is designed to appeal to all ages, blending entertainment with innovation and offering a platform for both casual visitors and serious gamers. With two days still remaining, attendees are being encouraged not to miss the remaining schedule of competitions, activations, and live experiences.
Tickets for GameExpo 2026 start from AED 29, and organisers are offering visitors the chance to win a Jetour T2 Luxury Plus vehicle, courtesy of Elite Group Holding, through ticket-based entry. Additional conveniences include up to six hours of free parking at DWTC’s Mustaqbal Parking and Exhibition Street Parking areas.
The wider Dubai Esports & Games Festival 2026 is presented by du, with support from partners including Amazon, Dubai Culture, Jetour UAE (part of Elite Group Holding), and talabat. Together, they are helping to deliver one of the Middle East’s largest celebrations of gaming, esports, and digital entertainment.
