Cardi B hits back at social media trolls

Cardi B is clapping back at social media trolls who she says are trying to “humble” her by sharing edited and unflattering images online.

The 32-year-old rapper took to X (formerly Twitter) to defend herself after noticing manipulated photos of her circulating on the platform. She responded by posting an unfiltered, makeup-free video of herself, calling out the trolls directly.

“Am I really that bad of a b**** that y’all always gotta edit my pictures to fake try to humble me with insults on this app?” she wrote. “Anyways—no filter, no makeup, just me and this wig I had on for days. THANK YOU!!”

One user replied, “My god, she reeks of insecurity—like it’s getting sad.” But Cardi didn’t hold back, insisting that she’s far from insecure about her looks.

“I’m insecure? Or do I make y’all insecure to the point that you gotta pull up my pictures, open an app, and edit them because y’all can’t stand how hard I step???” she fired back.

The Grammy-winning artist, who rose to fame after working as a stripper and then launching a chart-topping music career, also shared a post suggesting her name is constantly used to drive engagement on social media.
“Everybody using Cardi’s name for engagement chile,” the post read, accompanied by a yawning emoji—Cardi retweeted it in agreement.

Despite her success, Cardi has openly admitted that fame hasn’t necessarily brought her more happiness. In a past interview with CR Fashion Book, the ‘Bodak Yellow’ hitmaker said she felt more content two or three years ago, when she had less money and more personal freedom.

“One positive thing is that my family—whatever they want, they get. Everything I want to buy, I can get. I don’t have to worry so much about my future,” she said.

Cardi shares three children with her husband Offset: Kulture, 6, Wave, 3, and a baby daughter born in September, whose name has not been made public.
