Brazil Votes Today in Presidential Election
Voters in Brazil are heading to the polls today, Sunday, to elect the country’s next president.
Twelve candidates are competing in the presidential race, including the current Brazilian President, His Excellency Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, and presidential candidate Flavio Bolsonaro.
According to Reuters, around 159 million people are eligible to cast their ballots.
If no candidate secures more than 50% of the valid votes on Sunday — excluding blank and null ballots — the two frontrunners will advance to a second-round runoff scheduled for October 25.
