Golden Retrievers Take Over Golden: Thousands Gather for Heartwarming Annual Event

The town of Golden, Canada witnessed a heartwarming spectacle as around 3,000 Golden Retrievers gathered for the annual “Goldens in Golden” event, held on February 8, 2025. This popular event, which began in 2019, has grown into a highly anticipated gathering, drawing dog lovers from across the country to celebrate their beloved Golden Retrievers.

The event, aimed at boosting winter tourism and creating a sense of community among dog enthusiasts, offered a range of activities for both dogs and their humans. Golden Retrievers of all sizes and ages participated, many dressed in creative outfits, adding to the fun atmosphere. Attendees enjoyed photo booths, a merchandise booth, and other dog-friendly attractions.

Organizers emphasized that the event was exclusively for “leashed, friendly, and trained” Golden Retrievers. However, in a lighthearted twist, they also made it clear that the event was open to any well-behaved dog, not just Golden Retrievers. “Nobody is ‘checking IDs’,” they joked, welcoming all leashed, trained, and friendly dogs to join the festivities.

The event proved to be a heartwarming celebration of the breed, while also offering a boost to the local winter tourism scene in Golden.
