Malalla-Atabani duo triumph in super doubles at BTC

The pair of Mohammed Malalla and Ashraf Atabani continued their winning ways in the super doubles category of the Bahrain Tennis Club (BTC) Ramadan Tournament 2022 for The Late Majid Al Zayani Cup.
Malalla and Atabani posted their third successive victory of the competition after defeating Islam Abo Alam and Essam Tantawi 6-1, 6-2 in their Group B clash.
They had previously also beaten the pairings of Kamel Al Bahrani and Nabeel Dawani as well as Ahmed Khalfan and Abdulrahman Al Thani.
Their next fixture is scheduled for tonight against Khalid Qayoom and Kalid Ahmed Janahi. In other matches in Group B, Qayoom and Janahi defeated Khalfan and Al Thani 6-1, 6-4.
Meanwhile, in Group A, Ali Ahmed Alali and Ahmed Ebrahim beat Hesham Ameer and Kamal Abdullatif 6-2, 6-2; while Ahmed Al Mosawi and Ahmed Al Mansoori outplayed Ebrahim Qaed and Fathalla Ebrahim 6-2, 6-2.
The tournament is being sponsored by Al Zayani Investments and organised by BTC. Play is being held in round-robin format until April 25. Matches start from 9pm onwards at the BTC courts in Juffair.
