Bahrain hosts forum on archaeology of irrigation technology and water management

On behalf of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa yesterday inaugurated the Archaeology of Irrigation Technology and Water Management in the Islamic World Conference.

HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman noted the importance of the conference as a platform to identify sustainable solutions to combat global environmental challenges, which remains a central part of the Kingdom’s environmental efforts in line with the visions of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman affirmed the importance of hosting specialised conferences and events which allow for the exchange of knowledge, expertise, and best global practices and serve to highlight the Kingdom’s competitive capabilities.

His Highness wished the conference attendees and its organisers success in their contributions to environmental protection and in ensuring the sustainability of water resources for future generations. The President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiques (BACA), Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, expressed his gratitude to His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for his patronage of the Conference and thanked HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman on inaugurating the event on behalf of His Royal Highness.

Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed noted His Royal Highness’s support for all initiatives and programmes that enhance the Kingdom’s pioneering position as a centre for promoting cultural heritage. Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed highlighted the importance of the conference in promoting expert collaboration in the field of irrigation and water management and reflecting the extensive Islamic heritage.
