Open Prisons Beneficiaries Turn Art Into Messages of Peace

The initiative allowed beneficiaries to use art as a means of expressing their understanding of these values while encouraging positive engagement and personal development.

On the occasion, Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing director general, said peace represents an established national approach laid down by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of Bahrain, through his vision supporting peace, tolerance and coexistence.

He added that His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, continues to reinforce this approach through national policies and initiatives that promote social cohesion, brotherhood, coexistence and stability.

The official said the peace-themed event reflected the Directorate’s commitment to involving beneficiaries in meaningful international occasions and providing opportunities for them to express their ideas and showcase their talents.

Such activities, he added, contribute to developing beneficiaries’ abilities, strengthening their positive participation in society and supporting the Open Prisons Programme’s broader goal of creating sustainable pathways for social reintegration.
