We feel proud of Muharraq Club Asian achievement: HH Shaikh Khalid

First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS), President of the General Sport Authority (GSA) and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, extended sincere congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Personal Representative of HM the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and SCYS Chairman, following the victory of Muharraq Club football team in the AFC Cup final after beating Uzbekistan’s FC Nasaf 3-0 in the match held today in the Shaikh Ali Bin Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa Stadium in Arad.

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa attended the final alongside President of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), HE. Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, President of Bahrain Football Association (BFA) Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, BFA Deputy President Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, BOC Deputy President Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Muharraq Club President Shaikh Ahmed bin Ali Al Khalifa, First Vice-President of Uzbekistan Football Association Ravshan Irmatov, and GSA Chief Executive Dr. Abdulrahman Sadaq Askar.

After the match, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa crowned Muharraq team with the championship’s trophy and shared with the players the lifting of the Asian cup. He praised the high technical level shown by the team and the players’ resolve to achieve distinction and high performance.

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa took pride in the Asian accomplishment made by Muharraq Club, describing it as an extension to the club’s track-record of achievements. He congratulated the club’s board Chairman and members, affiliates and supporters on the honorable feat, wishing the team further success.
