4,390 Bahrain educators benefit from 17 training programmes

About 4,390 Education Ministry employees have benefitted from 17 training programmes implemented by the Regional Centre for Information and Communication Technology under the supervision of UNESCO from September 2020 to August 2021.

Education Minister Dr Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi said that the programmes were held within the framework of continuous professionalisation plans for cadres working in various sectors.

Those who undertook the various training programmes at the centre included 3,961 teachers, 374 educational specialists, 23 special education teachers, 7 assistant directors, and 25 from other specialisations. They suit the job tasks of each trainee according to his training needs, and keep pace with developments.

They gained knowledge about the digital world, including writing interactive materials, managing distance education, sustainable development goals 2030, preparing distance training materials, infographics and design basics, knowledge journeys through the web, cloud computing applications in education, designing and publishing an e-book, training on the content production standards guide digital education, educational foundation, educational construction, data analysis and presentation using digital systems, and open educational resources.

The Minister stressed that since the establishment of the centre, it has played an active role in serving the countries of the region in its field of competence.

Thousands of people from different countries have benefitted from its training programmes and workshops. Dr Al Nuaimi added that Bahrain has contributed to supporting the work of the centre by developing its infrastructure and human resources, and providing it with the latest technologies and advanced devices to implement its projects, initiatives and activities.

The programmes are implemented in coordination and cooperation with the Education Ministry and a number of national, regional and international institutions specialised in the field of information and
