School leaders have confirmed their readiness for the start of the new school year 2021/2022. They promise to spare no effort in serving all students, and providing them quality education, in the face of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Whether the mode of teaching and learning is remotely or actual attendance, they are confident that they will live up to expectations and fulfil their patriotic duty as educators with the cooperation of administrative and educational bodies, and the support of parents.

The director of Al Ahed Al Zahir Secondary School for Girls, Noor Munir Al-Ghannam Al Subaie, said they look forward to achieving positive results in terms of the sustainability of the educational service during the pandemic, which have been achieved during the past two academic years.

“We are ready to continue imparting the most precious knowledge to our students to help push the Kingdom’s educational process forward,” said Al Subaie.

She emphasised that the exceptional achievement the past two academic years will serve as their motivation to continue achieving strategic goals, developing and improving school work – especially with regard to the development of student learning – spreading distinguished classroom practices among teachers, and organising training workshops for staff.

The head of the teaching and learning team at the school, Professor Widad Abdel-Rasoul, said that despite the harm the pandemic caused to the education system, they will be all out to provide everything for the benefit of their students.

Creative learning project coordinator Zahraa Al Sari confirmed that the organisation of internal training workshops continues during these circumstances, through digital platforms, to keep pace with global developments, and to acquire educational strategies that are attractive and can motivate the passion for education.

The coordinator of the Science Department, Professor Mais Al Badawi, pointed out that the focus during the pandemic was on enhancing research skills and self-learning among students, through training, guidance and follow-up. Prof Al Badawi noted that these conditions were the gateway for students to focus on skills they were not interested in previously, which represents a positive reflection of the pandemic.
