Traders Report Quiet Business in Central Market

Manama’s central market has seen quieter business during the current days of Ramadan compared to the start of the month. Several traders reported lower customer turnout and weak sales, following limited activity earlier in the month.

During a field visit, some meat sellers said prices have risen by around 500 fils per kilogram compared to last year, directly affecting consumer purchases. Many shoppers are buying smaller quantities or seeking cheaper alternatives.

In contrast, fish prices have remained stable. Traders described them as “normal and reasonable,” with a variety of options available to meet shoppers’ needs, keeping demand steady.
