Iran crossed all red lines

Al-Ayam newspaper has affirmed that Iran’s outrageous policies have led Bahrain to recall its ambassador from Tehran and declare the Iranian Chargé D'affaire as a person non-grata who should leave the country within 72 hours.

In today’s editorial, Al-Ayam said that Bahrain’s foreign policy has always been calm, wise, balanced and not hasty even at dark circumstances, and reaching this stage in the diplomatic relations with Iran means that the latter has crossed all red lines. 
The newspaper explained that the move was taken by the kingdom as a result of Iran’s continuous blatant encroachment on its sovereignty through repeated interference in its domestic affairs, violation of international norms through its attempts to undermine its security and stability, continuous incitement in a bid to ignite sectarian strife and unwavering support for terror and sabotage elements politically, in the media and practically through harbouring and training them or dispatching tools of killing and destruction-weapons and explosives- to them.

Now, Iran no longer makes any effort to hide its blatant interference, but supports its meddlesome conduct by statements of its senior officials, which represents a deliberate violation of the UN Charter and the requirements of peace, the newspaper added in its editorial.

The newspaper stressed that Iran not only interferes in the domestic affairs of Bahrain, Iraq, Syria, Yemen and Lebanon, but also openly backs terror elements through calling for the overthrow of ruling systems, alongside them, and providing them with the needed political, media, military and financial support.

Worse than that, Iran tends to recall historical bloody battles, justifies them and gives them ideological and religious dimensions for the sake of sowing divide among citizens and peoples and fueling sedition and conflicts among them to serve its national interests, the newspaper said.

Al-Ayam asserted that there is compelling evidence that Iran is directly involved in everything evil orchestrated against the security and stability of Bahrain and the region, stressing that the step taken by Bahrain recently was necessary.
