The body of a Bahraini national who was killed in a road accident in Thailand on Friday was buried in Sitra Cemetery yesterday.
The man reportedly died after crashing his vehicle into a truck on a highway in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province in the southern part of Thailand due to bad weather conditions.
The 26-year-old was identified as Ameer Mansoor Dhaif, hailing from Sitra. He was reportedly rushed to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and was announced dead the same day.
Sources informed that he worked in Thailand for the past four years and is survived by his wife, who was living along with him in Thailand. She was the first to inform the authorities about the mishap.
Initial reports indicated that the deceased’s vehicle was swept away by heavy floods, which crashed his car right into the truck.
Foreign Affairs Ministry had earlier confirmed the Embassy of Bahrain in Bangkok was following up on the matter. It informed about the repatriation procedures on Monday.
