Security guard gets six months in jail for theft

The Lower Criminal Court sentenced a 44-year-old hotel security officer to six months in prison for stealing money from a tips box placed in the hotel to raise money for the hotel’s employees.
The box contained BD276 at the time of the robbery, according to court files.
The accused landed in police net after detectives reviewed the security cameras fixed in the hotel.
The 44-year-old confessed to police of committing the crime that happened on April 14 this year.
