Water saving devices, water efficient pipes and implementing building code for conservation could save around 30pc of water bills

Around 30 per cent of the water bill and water use can be saved by implementing one of the inexpensive recommendations from the researchers behind the National Water Strategy (NWS).

Opting for water saving devices, water efficient pipes and making use of the building code for water conservation could make a substantial difference to one’s water bill and save notable amounts of water in every building it is implemented, Director of the National Water Strategy (NWS) Dr Waleed Zubari told Tribune.

He said that this could lead to consumption of 30pc less water, consequently leading to reduction in water bills. The recommendation involves applying the water-conservation oriented building code as well as installing water saving devices in the building.
