150 students benefited from national training programme

As many as 150 students benefited from 14 public and private Bahraini institutions of the national training programme implemented by the General Secretariat of the Council for Higher Education. Seven of these students elaborate on their experience training with the national programme for field training.

In the period between July 26 to September 4, a variety training opportunities are available for students which including graphic design, media, statistics, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, management, human resources, financial management, accounting, banking, information technology, marketing management, sales, learning resources, and insurance.

Faisal Al Mahmood, a law student from Kingdom University benefited from labour market requirements by saying that, “Such training programmes and courses is an opportunity for university students to be able to apply theories into practice in the labour market,” pointing out that his experience working at the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry earned him academic skills.

Zahra Khalid, an English Literature student from University of Bahrain confirmed that she benefited from teamwork skills. “University students are hungry for such training opportunities given its practicality,” she said. She noted that she learned a lot from interning as a translator and learning teamwork skills in the General Secretariat of the Council for Higher Education.

 

Teamwork skills

 Amir Jaffar, a Mechanical Engineering student from Bahrain Polytechnic confirmed that Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO) has enhanced his professional abilities noting that regardless of a degree of academic excellence in theoretical subjects, it is an urgent need to strengthen the practical side to be able to achieve a successful career after graduation.

 

Enhance the professional capacity

 Zahra Makki, a student from AMA University noted that the training programme has allowed her a precious opportunity to link theoretical application that is currently being trained in BAPCO as she benefited greatly from human resources management.

Noor Abdulnasser, an accounting student from University of Bahrain confirmed that the programme contributed to the development of her capabilities and strengths, stressing that the importance of hands-on training for senior university students to prepare them to engage most efficiently in the labour market.

 

Thirsty for training opportunities

Rabab Ebrahim, Banking student at the University of Bahrain explained that her experience in working for the Ernst and young firm stimulated her development of personal capabilities and diligence, which allows her to run her life in a successful process.

Turkey Abdullah, accounting student at the University of Bahrain expressed his delight in getting trained in the company PricewaterhouseCoopers (trading as PwC), pointing out that the company specializes in the field of audit which is a part of his academic specialization, and this is what earned him the ability to recruit his information in theory to a practical field which only boosted his personal potential.
