Kuwait Eases Family Visit Visa Rules for Expatriates

Kuwait has scrapped the minimum salary requirement for expatriates applying for family visit visas, making it easier for residents to bring loved ones to the country.

The new policy, confirmed by Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al Yousuf, allows residents to invite a wider circle of relatives — including extended family up to the fourth degree by blood and third-degree in-laws.

In another major change, visitors are no longer required to travel only on Kuwait’s national airline. They can now arrive by land, sea, or air on any carrier.

Col. Abdulaziz Al Kandari from the General Residency Department’s Electronic Services Administration said the move aims to strengthen family ties and remove barriers for residents. “Any legal resident in Kuwait can now apply to host visiting family members, regardless of income,” he said.

Officials say the reforms are part of broader efforts to make Kuwait a more welcoming destination for families and visitors.
