Students from 60 schools clean-up Karbabad beach

Manama : Sixty schools participated in the Karbabad beach clean-up campaign organised by the Capital Secretariat Council in cooperation with Ministry of Education.

The Chairman of the Board of the Capital Municipal Council, Engineer Mohammed Ali Al-Khuzai addressed the students on the sidelines of the campaign. He enlightened the students on the importance of preserving the environment, pointing out that the world is moving towards protecting the environment. 

The event comes after the success of the National Day Event and walkathon organised by the Capital Municipal Council.

“The council is keen on protecting and preserving the environment involving the public and making them realise the importance of such campaigns,” Al-Khuzai said. 

The campaign was part of the strategy of the council to support and work towards the preservation of the environment and raise awareness among the citizens on the importance of cleanliness.

“The participation of the public in such activities reflects the environmental awareness among them,” he said, thanking the students who participated in the clean-up drive.

 “It is nice to see the students come up here and put in an effort to clean-up the environment.  Instilling the love of the environment and its protection among young people ensures a generation of conscious youth who are aware of protecting nature from pollution,” Chairman of the Committee on Public Relations and Information Council at the Capital Municipal Council, Dr Maha Al Shihab said. 

The clean-up drive comes under the umbrella of the “Asmaeti_Ajmal” a  campaign launched by the Board of the Capital Secretariat Council.
