‘Spectra 2017’ on way

ManamaThe Indian Community Relief Fund (ICRF) is holding an art carnival titled ‘Spectra 2017’ this Friday at The Indian School, Bahrain from 7.30 am to 4.30 pm. 

The Faber Castell ‘Spectra 2017’ carnival, the largest art competition for students in Bahrain, is held under the patronage of the Embassy of India. 

This annual event, now in its ninth edition, aims at unearthing artistic talent among the youth and creating a future generation who would be catalysts for social change.

A total of about 1500 children from various schools in Bahrain are expected to participate, after completing preliminary rounds in their respective schools.  

Participants will be divided into four age groups - five to eight years, eight to eleven years, eleven to fourteen years and fourteen to eighteen years. 

Winners will be honoured during The Finale function on 25th November 2017 evening at the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam Diamond Jubilee Hall, Segaiya.

The winning entries and other outstanding creations will figure in the Wall Calendars and Desk-Top Calendars designed for the year 2018. Calendars will be launched at the Finale function by Alok Kumar Sinha, Ambassador of India to Bahrain at the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam.  

Net proceeds from the competition will go towards a Family Welfare Fund to provide relief to support the families of deceased Indian labourers drawing wages below BD100 per month.
