Tour of Slovenia begins
Manama : The 24th edition of Tour of Slovenia will take place from June 15-18, with many Slovene riders and staff members of the Bahrain Merida Pro Cycling Team looking forward to the top cycling event in Slovenia.
Head of Sports Directors, Gorazd Štangelj, who comes from Novo Mesto, the city where the fourth and final stage will end, said about the goals for this Tour: “We would like to win at least one stage with Colbrelli but most important is that he prepares for the Tour. Domen Novak will be fighting for top five in General Classification (GC). Also Visconti and Suitsou will be chasing stage wins and we expect the same from Pibernik, Božič and Per that will be also in the assisting role, considering the strong roster for this race.”
Domen Novak expressed his expectations for the race: “I will fight for the white jersey and for the best possible position in GC. We have a strong team and I think we can win a stage. Sonny will be there and also the rest of the team is well prepared so I think we can get really high also in team classification.”
