Woodrow wins Ramadan opener
Manama : Sebastian Woodrow (26 points) won the opening competition of the Royal Golf Club’s Ramadan PowerPlay Series, with Earl Fountain (25) taking the runners up spot with Rob Lane (23) clinching third place.
Adam Dutson, the Royal Golf Club’s Tournament Coordinator was on hand after the competition to present prizes to the winners.
The PowerPlay Stableford competition was played on the floodlit back 9 holes of the Royal Golf Club’s Montgomerie championship course and gives competitors a choice between the normal flag location and a harder PowerPlay flag option on each green.
In an added twist, competitors are forced to play the ‘Black Flag’ on at least three of their nine holes and those successfully completing the harder option receive double points for the respective hole.
