GPIC equal opportunities meet
Manama : Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) President Dr Abdulrahman Jawahery presided over the first board meeting of the recently formed Equal Opportunities Council.
The Council, which includes members of Executive Management and a representative of the Company’s Labour Union, focuses on promoting and empowering women.
“The setting up of the Council reflects the company’s desire to support and care for working women and to take steps in that direction,” said Dr Jawahery.
Following the meeting, Dr Jawahery said the Council have decided to give women candidates more opportunities in training within and outside the company.
Among other responsibilities, the Council will monitor the implementation of equal opportunities in the company and coordinate with the Supreme Council for Women as well as supervise all initiatives approved by the Council.
