Asian fined for illegal transportation

An Asian national accused of giving a paid trip to two Asian women has been fined BD1000. Ironically, the defendant offered the women to transport them from Manama to Asker for a sum of BD3 in an utter violation to the transport law in the Kingdom.
The women said that the defendant had extended his service to them and told them it was cheaper than using a taxi.
"We were in Manama when he (the defendant) spotted us walking. He offered us a lift to our destination for only BD3," one of the women told prosecutors.
The defendant was convicted before the Lower Criminal Court of violating the transport law by offering to transport people in return of money without a license. The defendant had been ordered to be deported from Bahrain along with a three-year entry ban.
