The National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) participated in the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua) International Conference in Ireland, where two scientific papers prepared by NHRA employees were accepted and presented.

The delegation was headed by Dr Ahmed Mohammed Al Ansari, NHRA Chief Executive Officer. The participation highlighted Bahrain’s contribution to international efforts to strengthen healthcare quality, accreditation and regulatory practices.

The first paper, presented by Nargis Ashkanani, NHRA Health Quality Assurance Specialist, focused on “Enhancing Quality Indicator Reporting Across All Hospitals in the Kingdom of Bahrain: The National Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Monitoring Platform.” It examined the development of a national digital platform for monitoring hospital KPIs, improving the collection and analysis of quality data, and strengthening reporting and continuous improvement in healthcare services.

The second paper, presented by Dana Al Sabbagh, NHRA Health Quality Assurance Specialist, was titled “Transitioning Towards Sustainability in Bahrain’s National Accreditation Programme.” It highlighted the NHRA’s experience in digitally transforming the national accreditation programme while incorporating sustainability principles to optimise resources, streamline procedures and improve operational efficiency.

The participation also reflected the contribution of Bahraini professionals to healthcare research and the exchange of specialised expertise with international organisations.
