Dog brutally tortured, hanged on Budaiya farm
Manama
The carcass of a dog hanging on a metallic wire was found on a farm in Budaiya after it was tortured by the farm owners.
Animal rights activist Yaseen revealed that while he was patrolling around the farms in Budaiya to ensure the wellbeing of the animals living there, he came across the blood soaked carcass in a cage last Tuesday.
"The brutal act was done by a worker of the farm as per the orders of the farm owners. A thick metal wire was wrapped around the dog’s neck. It was hung and left to die there like that. The dog was badly wounded on the neck and was a gash on the mouth as it tried to escape. The dog had other injuries on its body indicating that it was hit,” he told DT News.
Responding to Yaseen's post on the BSPCA official Facebook page regarding the incident, an official from the organization commented: “Our Chairman along with Yasin and the police visited the farm. They waited there from 10pm to 12.30 midnight, but nobody appeared or responded to their attempts to enter the farm.”
“Today we passed the owner's name and mobile number to the police. We also handed over the video Yasin took in which someone confessed to the killing. The police are now searching for that person,” the official added.
According to Yaseen, the perpetrators have been caught and are now in police custody. "I have provided strong proof with the police. The worker at the farm confessed to me that he had committed the crime and I recorded his confession. Now it will be easy to prosecute the accused,” he opined. "The sole concern is whether the farm owners will get the punishment they deserve. They are the real perpetrators as they abetted the crime.”
Yaseen stressed that animal rights activists will continue to observe the violations against animals in the Kingdom.
