Tamkeen, Fives ink skill development deal
Manama : Tamkeen yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding with “Fives” a global engineering industrial group to enhance Bahrainisation rate in the Kingdom’s industrial sector.
As per the deal, fives will provide foreign internships opportunities within its worldwide network of companies for up to 15 Bahraini engineering graduates per year.
Besides, a technical training workshop for high-end welding applications will be established for which equipment will be funded by Fives. They will also create its training programme.
The move is aimed at bridging skills gap that will benefit both graduates and non-graduates. It was signed in the presence of Bernard Regnauld-Fabre, French Ambassador in Bahrain.
As per the deal, the partners will create, label and certify a selection of vocational training programmes to meet the needs of the companies intending to increase Bahrainisation rate in skilled workforce.
Commenting on the deal, Dr. Ebrahim Mohammed Janahi, Chief Executive of Tamkeen said, “Tamkeen is continuously seeking to establish partnerships that contributes in making Bahrainis the employee of choice.”
