Man get prison for keeping drugs
Manama : The High Criminal Court slapped an Asian man with seven years in prison along with a fine of BD5,000 for stashing drugs for his friends.
The defendant reportedly accepted an offer from his friend, who went on leave to stash heroin for him in return of BD400.
However, his decision backfired as police officers raided the defendant’s house following a tip-off. Three bags containing heroin were seized from his house. The court also ordered the man to be expelled from the country once he completes his jail term.
According to court files, the defendant wasn’t doing drugs and was not a dealer. But his desire for to earn easy-money landed him in police net, the court files read.
