University of Bahrain welcome 2,000 new students

ManamaUniversity of Bahrain President Prof Riyad Hamzah yesterday welcomed 2,000 students, who enrolled for the new academic year.

Prof Hamzah said the varsity had introduced several changes to improve quality and to help students, staff and the university fulfil its ambitions.

These include the launch of a student online registration system. “For the first time, we have gone completely digital for student registration and it has been a real success. In addition, the new UoB mobile app allows students to not only register for courses, but also calculate their GPA,” he disclosed.

Later this month, UoB will launch the new university website, which is currently being finalised.

“The university is moving far more to a technology-based campus that has been accelerated by becoming a 100pc Wi-Fi campus. I see the university becoming a leading technology university in the region as Bahrain is pushing to be at the forefront of the regional digital economy,” Prof Hamzah added.
