Man arrested for car stunt in Muharraq
Manama : A youngster who was performing illegal car stunts and manoeuvres in Muharraq was arrested yesterday.
Confirming the incident, Muharraq Governorate General Director Colonel Fawaz Al Hassan said in a statement that the 22-year-old had committed several traffic violations by performing stunts on a public road, posing threat to his life as well as others.
“Investigations have led us to the suspect, who was immediately arrested and subjected to necessary legal measures. He was referred to the General Directorate of Traffic,” Col. Al Hassan stated.
“The directorate is sparing no efforts to detect such wrong behaviour and hold those involved legally accountable,” said the Traffic Acting Director General.
The move comes as part of a clampdown on illegal street racers and stuntmen.
In a recent incident, a Bahraini had lost his life and eight others were seriously injured in an accident that occurred during an illegal car racing in the Al Areen area.
