Bahraini man bites police officer

ManamaA police officer’s hand was bitten by a Bahraini man in a bid to escape punishment, when the officer confronted him over a traffic violation, the High Criminal Court heard. The 21-year-old defendant was reportedly riding his bike without wearing helmet when stopped by the officer.

The officer got hold of the defended when he tried to flee. Panicked and citing other officers approaching, the defended then bit the officer’s hand to escape the scene. The injured officer was later taken to a nearby medical centre.

When inquired about the reason that led him to attack the officer, the defendant said he had bought the bike for BD1500 and that he was afraid that the police would seized the vehicle.

He even claimed that the police officer did not introduce himself properly when approached.
