BRUTAL ASSAULT: VERDICT ON SEPT 9
Manama
Court ruling of two persons accused of brutally beating a 53-year-old-man will be given on September 9. The duo allegedly attacked the victim in front of his house on March 1 last year, and left him at the incentive care unit of a local hospital with a fractured lower jaw and broken teeth.
Court reports confirmed the victim has eventually recovered, albeit with 20 per cent permanent disability. The case was reported to police by the victim's wife, who saw her husband being assaulted by the duo.
The victim and the accused were reportedly friends, but a dispute broke out between them when the former failed to return them BD4500 that he had borrowed.
"I was returning home from my friend’s house when they attacked me. One of them first knocked me down and then the second one started beating me all over with a cane," the victim said.
“My eyeglass was broken and I fainted. When I woke up, I was in the hospital,” he added. The victim's wife, 36, claimed she had already given the duo her 2002 Toyota Landcruiser in exchange for the borrowed amount.
On the other hand, the first defendant accused the victim of using black magic on them. “Due to his black magic, we were going through a really bad phase,” he claimed in his statement.
