Teen robber gets jail
Manama
A 16-year-old boy, who robbed a house to buy a donkey, was sentenced to six months in jail. He reportedly wanted to contest the stolen donkey in a race event. According to court documents, the teenager surveyed a house in Sar and sneaked inside in the broad daylight.
He reportedly rang the bell several times at 10:00am to make sure no one was inside, and entered the house through an unlocked door. He allegedly pocketed a gold ring, a gold necklace, and BD570 he found on a table. He later fled the home through the kitchen's window.
"I have always dreamt of participating in the donkey races in Sar. I didn’t have a donkey and so I stole the house,” he said. He reportedly failed to sell the stolen items as his young age triggered suspicion of jewellers. It's claimed the boy has been already convicted in four other robbery cases.
