Shaikh Nasser congratulated on Ironman success

Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) board member and chairwoman of the women’s sport committee Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa has congratulated His Majesty the King Personal Representative for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and President of BOC Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa on his latest international achievement in the Cairns Ironman Challenge in Australia.
The captain of the Bahrain Endurance and Endurance 13 Elite Teams competed against over 3,800 international triathletes, Shaikh Nasser came seventh place in the age 25-29 years category and 53rd overall of the full-distance triathlon challenge, which included a 3.8km swim, 190km cycling and a 42.2km run.
He finished the three stages of the race within in 10 hours 5 minutes and 26 seconds.
Shaikha Hayat expressed his sincere appreciation and pride of Shaikh Nasser’s global achievement and the improvement attained by the Kingdom of Bahrain in international triathlon championships.
She said that Shaikh Nasser's outstanding achievement reflects his advanced status in the Ironman Challenge, highlighting His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's keen interest in supporting the affiliates of the sports and youths' movement in order to promote the name of the Kingdom in international arenas.
She also hailed Bahrain Endurance and Bahrain Endurance 13 Elite Team's achievements and improvement.
