Entries open for May Queen Ball
Manama : Entries are now open for the Indian Club May Queen Ball 2016, an internationally renowned event that will take place on May 19 at the club’s premises in Gudaibiya, announced Indian Club president Anand Lobo at a press conference yesterday.
Around 2,000 VIPs, sponsors, guests and club members will attend the spectacular event. Models of all nationalities can compete for the title of ‘The Indian Club May Queen 2016’.
The competition will have four rounds – first round will see the contestants having fun in a unique casual routine; in the second round, the models will be wearing costumes that represent their native countries while the third will change the mood back to a more decorous focus with the prospective May Queens dressing up in party-wear; and then the fourth and final round for the chosen Final Seven models, will be ‘Question and Answer’.
Kevin D’Cunha, who is one of Bahrain’s foremost choreographers and a veteran of a number of Indian May Queen Ball competitions, will orchestrate the contestants’ routines.
The focus of the evening will be on the contestants and who will be crowned the winner.
However, the packed audience will also be treated to a spectacular performance by local and international dancers.
“The event is a focal point in The Club’s calendar and is always an exciting event to present to our guests and Club members; it is always hard to ‘upstage’ the previous year’s show, but I am confident that the show we have planned for this year will take this great event to another level with a unique stage-show and wonderful music and dance artists.
“The main act is of course the beautiful ladies competing to become May Queen; I am sure that, as in previous years, it will be a hard choice for our judges, but whoever gets to wear the crown at the end of a spectacular evening will undoubtedly be worthy of the title ‘The Indian Club May Queen 2016’,” he added.
Further details and entry forms for the event can be obtained from The Indian Club on 1725 3157.
