Police Air Wing rescues mountaineer

Ras Al Khaimah : Ras Al Khaimah Police has rescued an Arab national who slipped and fell while climbing a mountain in the Emirate.

Saeed Rashid Yamahi, head of Air Wing, said the man, in his thirties, lost his balance at an altitude of 3,500 feet while practicing his hobby of mountaineering.

Yamahi said a helicopter was despatched to the scene of the accident and the injured person was taken to hospital.

He said the Air Wing is always fully prepared to move to any place at any place to help rescue people in danger.
