Smart traffic camera trial set for December

Smart traffic cameras will begin a trial run in December, with 500 units planned across Bahrain and between 200 and 300 expected to be live by the first quarter of 2026.
The devices will carry detection systems able to record a range of traffic offences to raise compliance and road safety. The plan was outlined in Parliament by Rashid BuNajma, Undersecretary for Legislative Authority Affairs at the Interior Ministry.
