Need to participate in ‘North Thunder’ stressed

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa stressed the need to participate in the largest military manoeuvre in the history of the region, the “North Thunder.”

“The “North Thunder” is headed by Saudi Arabia, with the participation of 20 Arab and Islamic countries to protect against the dangers of terrorism and to prepare for facing the challenges posed by terrorist organisations,” HM the King explained while chairing the Cabinet session yesterday.

Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa were also present on the occasion.

On the occasion, HM the King issued instructions to launch more government projects in partnership with the private sector to support the industry, tourism and trade sectors.

While lauding the performance of the government and its key role in maintaining security, and political and economic stability, HM the King emphasised that the challenges, especially in the economic area, should by no means impede development and should be overcome to achieve the interests of all citizens.

Later, in a statement following the session, Cabinet Secretary-General Dr. Yasser bin Isa Al Nasser informed that HM King Hamad reviewed the overall domestic, regional and global developments.
