Space Agency Joins First International Space Summit

The Bahrain Space Agency (BSA) participated in the first International Space Summit in Paris as part of a high-level Bahraini delegation headed by Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani.

Bahrain’s participation reflects the Kingdom’s efforts to strengthen its international presence in the space sector and actively contribute to global discussions on the future of space and the challenges facing the industry.

The participation also supports Bahrain’s national objectives and its vision to establish the Kingdom as a distinguished regional hub for space science and technology.

Dr. Mohammed Ebrahim Al Aseeri, CEO of the BSA, said the summit was organised by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in cooperation with the governments of France and Germany.

He described the event as the first summit of its kind at the international level, aimed at promoting inclusive dialogue among stakeholders in the space sector and addressing emerging challenges.

According to Dr. Al Aseeri, the summit brought together representatives from at least 96 countries, including heads of state and government, ministers, heads of space agencies, scientists, military experts, private-sector leaders and representatives of development finance institutions.

The summit provides a platform for participating countries and organisations to exchange views and explore ways to address common challenges while shaping the future of the global space sector.
