Pakistan: A Voice for Peace, A Partner in Prosperity

Email: mail@newsofbahrain.com

As we celebrate the seventy-ninth anniversary of the independence of our beloved country, I extend my heartfelt felicitations to the Pakistani community residing in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and convey my warmest congratulations on this joyous and momentous occasion.

Pakistan’s Independence Day is a poignant reminder of the historic struggle through which our homeland was achieved by our forefathers. It was a struggle marked by immense sacrifices, steadfast determination, and an unshakable conviction in the righteousness of our cause. The struggle was born of the resolve to secure a separate homeland for the Muslims of the subcontinent, where they might live freely, with honour and with dignity. This day continues to remind us that the liberties we enjoy were hard-won, and we have an abiding duty to protect and build our homeland.

On the 79th Anniversary of Pakistan’s Independence, I am especially proud to highlight that, at this sensitive moment in the region, Pakistan has emerged as a nation committed to peace and dialogue. Our leadership has made relentless efforts to bring the conflict in the region to an early end. Pakistan considers war in the region to be detrimental to the interests of all countries in the region and beyond. We firmly believe that dialogue and diplomacy offer the surest path towards resolving conflicts and addressing long-standing disputes. This time-tested conviction also applies to all unresolved questions on the agenda of the United Nations.

In the same spirit, we believe that the global community must join hands to confront the challenges we face collectively as inhabitants of a shared planet i.e. climate change, poverty and terrorism foremost among them, because such cooperation, grounded in mutual respect, offers the surest guarantee of a more just, peaceful and prosperous world.

On this joyous day, I would also like to mention the vital role of the overseas Pakistani community in advancing Pakistan's vision of peace, progress and prosperity. The leadership of Pakistan recognizes and deeply values these contributions. Through their hard work, integrity and commitment, overseas Pakistanis continue to strengthen Pakistan’s bonds with the countries in which they live.

Bahrain has remained one of the most favorite destinations of the Pakistani community for many years. It is now home to over one hundred thousand Pakistanis who, in every sense, consider Bahrain their home. During the recent crisis, Bahrain extended safety, shelter and support to our community in the best manner possible, further cementing the deep bonds of trust between our two brotherly nations. As a community, we remain profoundly grateful for the warmth, generosity and hospitality extended by Bahrain throughout.

On this occasion, I wish to express our sincere gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and to the government and people of Bahrain, for their unwavering support, generosity and continued friendship towards Pakistan and its people.

I also avail this opportunity to reiterate our resolve to work together with our partners toward shared peace and prosperity.
