Preserving Dialect, Building Robots and Finding Her Voice

Three Bahraini students have been featured in the Education Ministry’s “Our Students Inspiring Stories” campaign, highlighting achievements in preserving local culture, robotics and creative arts.

Sara Ismail Al Jowder of Muharraq Secondary Girls School created “Lahjatna Bahjatna,” a children’s storytelling initiative that uses a character named Dana and her conversations with her grandmother to introduce the Bahraini dialect, heritage and traditions.

The stories have been shared through her school’s learning resource centre, as well as schools, societies and hospitals, with reading activities for children.

Sara also represented Bahrain at a Gulf artificial intelligence hackathon, where she secured second place. She has also achieved recognition in the Arab Reading Challenge, Robot Olympiad and Zain’s waste recycling competition, in addition to qualifying for an ALECSO literary creativity competition.

Meanwhile, Abdulrahman Raed Al Aradi, a mechatronics student at Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Institute of Technology, has developed projects combining robotics, programming and artificial intelligence.

Among his projects is a smart robotic arm designed as a prototype for prosthetic use, alongside robots for sports and machines capable of sorting objects according to colour, type or size.

He has also participated in robotics and technology competitions, including the 2025 Space Science Challenge hackathon, and contributed to preparations for the GCC Skills Competition.

Zahra Nabil Abdulla, a first-year intermediate student at Zainab Intermediate Girls School, was recognised for her achievements in voiceover, recitation and writing.

She won first place in the national voiceover competition and has conducted creative writing and short-story workshops for classmates. She has also produced videos for her school’s gifted pupils team and written scripts for morning assemblies.

The three students were highlighted by the Education Ministry as examples of young Bahrainis using their talents to contribute to their schools and communities.
