Startup Bahrain-UoB competition showcases the creativity of Bahraini Youth Creativity

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, met with the winning teams of the Startup Bahrain-UoB Competition at Riffa Palace.

The competition, supported by the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), aims to encourage Bahraini startups and promote innovative ideas among young entrepreneurs.

The Res-Q team won first place, followed by Loop in second place and Durra in third place. HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister congratulated the winners and wished them continued success.

HRH Prince Salman affirmed that supporting innovation and entrepreneurship remains a key pillar of Bahrain’s development strategy, in line with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

He highlighted the Kingdom’s commitment to creating opportunities for citizens to transform their ideas into successful businesses that contribute to economic growth.

His Royal Highness praised the achievements of Bahraini youth, noting that their creativity, ambition, and determination reflect the capabilities of the Kingdom’s national workforce.

HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister commended Tamkeen’s efforts, under the leadership of His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, in developing national talent and supporting entrepreneurs.

He also praised the competition participants for presenting innovative solutions addressing various challenges, describing their projects as a reflection of the creativity of Bahraini youth.

The competition will become a graduation requirement for students at the University of Bahrain’s College of Business Administration starting next year, further integrating entrepreneurship into higher education.

HRH Prince Salman highlighted the role of partners, including the Bahrain Economic Development Board, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the University of Bahrain, and StartUp Bahrain, in strengthening the Kingdom’s startup ecosystem.

He noted the progress made by StartUp Bahrain since its launch in 2013, supporting startups to launch, expand, and compete in global markets.
