Bahrain highlights commitment to modernising global dispute resolution systems
 
The Secretary-General of the Bahrain International Dispute Resolution Council (BIDRC), Professor Marika Batrani Paulson, participated in an international conference marking the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), held in New Delhi, India.

The three-day conference was jointly organised by the Supreme Court of India, India’s Ministry of External Affairs, and UNCITRAL at the Supreme Court premises in New Delhi.

The session was chaired by Justice Manmohan and co-chaired by Justice Joymalya Bagchi, both judges of the Supreme Court of India.

Professor Paulson joined a distinguished group of international legal experts and arbitration leaders as speakers, including Victor Dawes of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, Audrey Sheppard, President of the International Council for Commercial Arbitration, Dr Roberto Dalledonne Machado Filho, Secretary-General of Brazil’s Federal Supreme Court, Lord Leggatt, Justice of the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom, and Pasquale D’Ascola, First President of Italy’s Supreme Court of Cassation.
