Bahrain MP Discusses Maritime Security And Peace At IPU Assembly
MP Zainab Abdulameer Khalil participated in a meeting of the Standing Committee on Peace and International Security during the 153rd General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), held in the United Republic of Tanzania.
The meeting featured discussions on the role of parliaments in safeguarding peace amid the growing use of military artificial intelligence, alongside efforts to promote lasting peace through parliamentary diplomacy, mediation and dialogue.
Participants also took part in an expert hearing on the committee’s upcoming resolution concerning maritime security and the protection of critical infrastructure during conflicts.
The discussions highlighted the role of parliaments in safeguarding international navigation and maintaining global economic stability.
