A Northern Municipal Council member has called for a new bridge to tackle chronic congestion at the main entrance to Salman City.
Third Constituency councillor Mohammed Saad Al Doseri is pushing for a flyover directly linking Janabiya Highway and Salman City at the Budaiya-Janabiya intersection—one of the Northern Governorate's busiest junctions.
The proposed structure would allow vehicles to bypass traffic signals during peak hours, cutting journey times and easing pressure on surrounding roads.
Al Doseri said Salman City's rapid population growth demands proactive infrastructure investment. He confirmed he had already submitted a formal proposal to authorities.
"Investment in infrastructure is a fundamental step towards accommodating future growth and meeting citizens' needs," he said.
He cited rising vehicle numbers, urban expansion across the Northern Governorate, and the need for better connectivity between Salman City and neighbouring areas as key reasons for the project.
