Northern Municipality has launched the second phase of its campaign to remove unlicensed structures in Al Ramli, Complex 716, targeting 12 sites along Sheikh Zayed Street as part of efforts to implement the area's approved development plan.

Northern Municipality Director General Eng. Mohammed Al Sehli said the first phase saw the removal of 47 out of 61 illegal structures along Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Street and Sheikh Zayed Street. Inspections uncovered a range of unauthorised uses, including car scrapyards, warehouses, livestock pens, workshops, company offices, informal labour accommodation, construction material storage sites, and waste dumps.

Al Sehli said the campaign is being carried out under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning's Resolution No. 1054 of 2024 after completing all legal procedures, including site surveys, issuing notices, and allowing violators time to vacate. He added that the municipality will continue the removals in coordination with relevant authorities until all violations are cleared and the area is ready for future urban development projects.
