Bahrain's Interior Minister, General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, received a high-level Islamic delegation on Wednesday, reaffirming the ministry's commitment to ensuring safe conditions for religious commemorations.

The meeting brought together senior figures including Sheikh Nasser bin Sheikh Ahmed Al Asfoor, Deputy of the Court of Cassation and member of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, alongside fellow council member Sheikh Mansour Ali Hamada and Court of Cassation Judge Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Taher Al Madani.

The delegation opened by expressing gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for his directives ensuring all needs of the Ashura season were met, and praised Crown Prince and Prime Minister His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa for his support of the government's role in facilitating religious freedoms.

The delegation commended the Interior Ministry's security and logistical arrangements, citing organised procedures and community awareness efforts that ensured a peaceful observance.

Building on success
The Minister praised the cooperation of mourning hall heads, preachers, and participants for their discipline, describing the approach as a community partnership model.

He stressed the importance of maintaining this collaboration across all future religious seasons, calling Ashura 2026 a benchmark for years ahead.
