The First High Criminal Court set July 28 to deliver its verdict in the case of three Asian men accused of robbing a construction materials warehouse after assaulting and restraining a security guard.
Prosecutors said the suspects, aided by unidentified accomplices, attacked the guard at the company's Ras Zuwaid premises in February, tied him to a chair, stole his mobile phone, and then broke into the warehouse to take electrical cables and other items.
Police later recovered around 700 kilograms of stolen electrical cables after tracing the suspects through a scrap dealer. Three men were arrested while a fourth escaped. Investigators also found that the bus allegedly used in the crime had altered licence plates to avoid detection.
