Bahrain Reaffirms Commitment to Water Security at Saudi Water Week

Yasser bin Ibrahim Humaidan, Bahrain's Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs, participated in ministerial meetings held during the inaugural Saudi Water Week in Jeddah, highlighting the Kingdom's commitment to strengthening water security and sustainable resource management.

Speaking at the second stakeholder consultation meeting for the 11th World Water Forum, the minister reaffirmed Bahrain's support for Arab and international initiatives aimed at enhancing water security and developing innovative solutions to address the growing challenges posed by climate change, population growth, and rising water demand.

He stressed the importance of expanding Arab cooperation, investing in artificial intelligence and advanced technologies, and promoting the exchange of expertise to improve the sustainability and efficiency of water resource management.

Humaidan also took part in the ministerial session of the 7th Arab Water Forum, where he showcased Bahrain's achievements in water sector governance. He highlighted the role of the Water Resources Council and the National Water Strategy in promoting the use of treated wastewater, protecting groundwater reserves, and strengthening the financial sustainability of the water sector.
