Private Sector Is Bahrain's Growth Engine, Says Capital Governor

Capital Governorate and BCCI pledge closer ties to drive sustainable development

Capital Governor Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al Khalifa reaffirmed the private sector's vital role in the kingdom's development journey, describing it as a "strategic partner" — not just a supporting player.

Speaking during a visit to the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) on Monday, Shaikh Khalid said the private sector remains a cornerstone of Bahrain's comprehensive development under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and it continues to receive direct backing from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The governor was welcomed at the chamber's headquarters by newly elected BCCI Chairman Nabeel Khalid Kanoo and board members. Shaikh Khalid congratulated the new board and praised the chamber's efforts in boosting Bahrain's business environment and raising private sector competitiveness.

Talks covered ways to deepen cooperation between the Capital Governorate and BCCI on development and community initiatives, focusing on improving the quality of life for Bahraini citizens.

Mr. Kanoo welcomed the visit as proof of the governorate's genuine commitment to open communication with the business community, stressing the need for continued coordination to navigate regional economic shifts.
