Three MPs will make a public apology at Tuesday’s Parliament sitting after offering regret to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and to Bahrainis over remarks made during last week’s debate on changes to the Judicial Authority Law.

The apology was signed by First Deputy Speaker Abdulnabi Salman, Services Committee chairman Mamdouh Al Saleh, and Dr Mahdi Al Shuwaikh, a member of the same committee.

They said it concerned remarks and positions taken during debate on Decree-Law No. 13 of 2024, which amends Article 7 of the Judicial Authority Law issued by Decree-Law No. 42 of 2002.

In a statement issued by Parliament on Friday, the three MPs offered what they called ‘a clear apology and deep regret’ to His Majesty the King, adding: ‘We are at your command, sir.’

They also apologised ‘in the clearest and most direct terms’ to the people of Bahrain for what had taken place during the previous sitting.

The MPs said they stood behind Bahrain under the leadership of His Majesty the King, affirmed their full loyalty to the kingdom and its leadership, and condemned what they described as Iranian aggression against Bahrain, its sovereignty and its stability.

They also said they supported all steps taken by Bahrain against anyone who had betrayed the country, worked with those behind the attack, or shown sympathy for those involved.

They said Bahrain was a trust borne by all and stood above all else. Anyone who betrayed it had no place among them and did not deserve the honour of belonging to it or living on its soil.

The MPs praised the Bahrain Defence Force, security bodies and civil agencies for their role in confronting the attack on the country, its citizens and residents.

They said their apology came with a pledge to remain loyal, adhere to national principles, keep their oath, and carry out their public duties with honesty, sincerity and responsibility.

The apology will be delivered publicly during Parliament’s next sitting on Tuesday morning, 5 May 2026.
